Discovery Box
Six-week course | Half-day workshop each week
This course is the initial, one-off project of what we hope will be an ongoing creative collaboration between the staff of Horniman Museum and SLaM Recovery College’s students and trainers.
The idea is to work together to design and create a ‘Discovery Box’. A Discovery Box is like a mini, portable museum, containing a selection of museum objects linked to a particular theme. The group will agree on a relevant theme, and then choose which objects, relating to the theme, should go in the box. It will then become an exhibit at the Horniman, showcasing the work of SLaM Recovery College.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative community project which will help more people to understand and engage in the subject of mental health and recovery.
Due to the nature of the project, this will be a small group, and anyone signing up will need to be able to firmly commit to taking part in the whole course.
