London SE5 8UA The Employment Academy hosts, and works alongside, a wide range of organisations providing support and training for the long-term unemployed to help them develop the skills and confidence to find jobs. It has developed a reputation for being a rich source of competent, well-trained employees, and for having strong links with a range of key employers across the capital. |
By rail: Denmark Hill. Turn right out of the station, then right again into Windsor Walk. Ahead of you, you'll see a set of gates - this is the entrance to the Maudsley Campus. Walk through the gates and then, after a few yards, turn right onto a footpath. This will take you all the way to the Ortus. You can also access the building directly from Grove Lane. By overground: Denmark Hill. By bus: Routes 40, 42, 68, 176, 185, 468, 484 all stop nearby. Stopping at Camberwell Green (10 minutes away) are 12, 35, 36, 45, 171, 345, 436. |
By bus: Bus routes 12, 36, 171, 345 and 436 as well as N89, N136 and N171 stop at Vestry Road, just a few steps from the Employment Academy.
By train: The nearest overground stations are Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye, each about 15-20 minutes walking distance. Buses connect to Elephant & Castle (12 & 171), Vauxhall (36, 436), Peckham Rye (12) and Brixton (345) By car: There is no parking at the Employment Academy with the exception of one disabled parking space. By bike: There are bicycle racks on the premises as well as outside the main gate. Please notify reception if you would like to get access to the covered bicycle storage area in the courtyard. |

National Rail: 15 minutes from London: London Victoria to West Dulwich or London Bridge to North Dulwich. Trains leave around every 15 minutes. Both stations are a 10 minute walk from the Gallery.
London Underground: Take the Victoria Line to Brixton. From Brixton, take the P4 Bus (bus stop T), alighting at 'Dulwich Picture Gallery' or the National Rail Train from Brixton to West Dulwich. London Overground: Take the London Overground to Peckham Rye. Then the National Rail train or 37 bus (bus stop N) from Peckham Rye station to ‘North Dulwich Station’. Bus: P4 to College Road outside the Gallery café (from Lewisham bus stop C or from Brixton bus stop T). Alight at ‘Dulwich Picture Gallery’. 3 to West Dulwich Station (from Crystal Palace bus station bus stop D or from Oxford Street bus stop RF). Alight at ‘Croxted Road/Thurlow Park Road’. 37 to North Dulwich Station (from Peckham Rye bus stop N or from Putney bus stop F). Alight at ‘North Dulwich Station'. P13 to Dulwich College (New Cross to Streatham). Alight at ‘Dulwich College’. Tube: Victoria line to Brixton Turn left out of the tube and walk up Effra Road (you will see the Ritzy Cinema Library and Black Cultural Archives to your left across Windrush Square). Turn left onto Mervan Road and continue until you come to Talma Road and then turn right. The Saint Vincent’s Centre is on the corner of Talma Road and Probert Road.
Buses to Brixton 3, 37, 45, 59, 159, 139, 109, 2, 2a, 2b, 133, 135, 37, 35, 322. British Rail Brixton station is 5 minutes’ walk away. Alternatively, you can use Herne Hill station (Thameslink) then catch a bus or walk the 13 minutes to Brixton. There is metered parking in Talma Road. Limited one day passes at £7.50 are available by prior arrangement. |
